EU Supports Nine African Countries To Conserve Wetlands

A nine-million euro project is being carried out by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) with assistance from the European Union, EU, in four conservation priority regions throughout nine African nations.

Ghana, Togo, Benin, Sierra Leone, and the Gambia are among the recipients.

The goal is to connect territorial mangrove conservation structures with governance and production systems.

IUCN organized a tour of the Keta Lagoon Complex Ramsar site in the Volta Region for a limited group of members of the Media Platform on Environment and Climate Change as part of the International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystem, which happened last month.
