Gerald Ekow Woode, the Director of Research at the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference, GITFIC, has revealed that it has initiated the GITFIC-AfCFTA Tertiary Students Club on the campuses of various universities.
This move, according to him, is to foster collaboration among members and facilitate engagement with external stakeholders.
As part of the GITFIC-AfCFTA program, will seek to empower and collaborate between Africa’s academia, student upliftment, and the powers that be within the production, manufacturing, and trade sectors of Africa’s economies.
Mr. Ekow Woode, in an interview on Spice FM, said the club will provide a platform for student members to channel their energy, creativity, and passion towards advancing AfCFTA objectives and effecting meaningful change in their communities through entrepreneurship, startups, and dreaming of becoming some of Africa’s giant production and manufacturing success stories.
He observes that most Ghanaian students have little or no knowledge of the AfCFTA, so there is a need to help them gain insight into the program.
The GITFIC-AfCFTA Tertiary Club has been officially established at the University of Ghana, University for Development Studies, All National University, and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, with Dr. Edwin Alfred Provencal serving as the Chairman.
