For his part, the Clinical Coordinator of the Hospital, Dr William Duodu revealed that the facility would help to serve children with good medical services and added that the health of children is paramount to the hospital’s comprehensive health care.

Dr Duodu is hopeful that the children’s ward would end the challenges associated with children accessing health care.

“Kids ward is essential for the provision of comprehensive healthcare. We care for all age groups in the family. A facility like this needs to be equipped with human resources as well as equipment, he stated.

The Administrator of the Hospital, Felix Osei Kessie could not hide his joy but expressed his gratitude for the kind gesture adding that since the inception of the hospital there has not been any children’s ward. He stated that the completion of the facility will help them to help health workers to bring their expertise to bear.

” For all these years, the hospital has been operating without a children’s ward and so children receive healthcare in adult ward which is not the best practice. This is so significant to the hospital because the pediatric nurses can bring their expertise to work,” Mr Osei said.
