Seek Knowledge On Data Science To Foster Job Creation- Centre Lead at iCode

The Center Lead at iCode, Wilberforce Cobbinah is entreating the youth to embrace technology, especially in data science as a way of transforming the Local Economy.

Speaking during a Consultative Stakeholders Meeting here in Takoradi under the theme, “The role of Data Science is transforming the Local Economy for Job Creation and Economic Development” which is to create a platform for young people to have first-hand information on data science before the commencement of the training Mr Wilberforce Cobbinah is therefore entreating the youth, especially in the region to Seek Knowledge On Data Science To Foster Job Creation.

“This meeting is to give the youth the opportunity for our upcoming program for the Data Science training. We called some stakeholders to engage them so that they could have first-hand information,’’ he said.

He however called on the youth to familiarize themselves with digital knowledge as there are several employment opportunities for them.

“Before any major economic decision is taken, it has to be backed by data.  Data Science is by far becoming a very relevant tool in our locality. Businesses and organizations are seeing the need of getting people with the requisite skills to handle their data for them.

There’s a growing demand for Data Scientists and Analysts in various industry spaces. I want to advise the youth to make full use of this Data Science training because there are job opportunities for it,” Cobbinah noted.

Some Participants who expressed some excitement shared with Beach News Room how they intend to use the knowledge impacted to them.

“I now know of data management. I’d impact the knowledge to others especially those in my community to benefit from. I‘m very glad to the organizers of the program”

“I am a fashion designer and I would use the knowledge to capture some of my competitor’s data to build on them”
