The Completed Drainage System Solves Flood In Kwesimintsim Sabon Zongo
The completed drainage system in Kwesimintim Sabon Zongo, a Community in the Effia Kwesimintsim Municipality here in the western Region has helped solved one of the major challenges in the community, flood.
Speaking to Beach Newsroom, the Assemblymember for the Electoral Area Chief Buhari Osman disclosed that the construction of the drainage system has eased flooding in the area.
Months ago, the uncompleted drainage system which was captured under the Secondary City Project was a big threat.
“Flooding has been a perennial problem since time immemorial but with the construction of a storm drain has somehow solve part of the problem. Previously, some flooded areas take two days to dry out but currently flood water dry up within a matter of two to three hours,” he said.
Speaking of security in the community as the Ministry for National Security launched a citizens’ awareness campaign aimed at protecting the country against terrorist attacks Chief Buhari Osman added that about 70 streetlights have been fixed in the area which has solved crime in the enclave.
” With the help of the Member of Parliament, myself and the Assembly, 70 streetlights have been installed which has solved crime related issues,” he added.
Like it is said Oliver asks for more Chief Buhari Osman is further pleading with city authorities to also help with fixing of more streetlights and other pressing social amenities in the area.
” We are pleading for more streetlights because some parts of the community do not have them,” Chief Osman stated.
