Looming Strike: GODA to embark on a sit-down strike
The Ghana Online Driver’s Association (GODA) in the Sekondi – Takoradi has hinted at embarking on a 5 – day sit down strike to register terms of working conditions amongst other relevant issues.
In an interview with Spice 91.9FM, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Kojo William stated that from Monday, March 21, 2022, all members of the Association will lay down their tools to protest on high fuel prices, low fares, drivers commission, drivers security and many more.
He mentioned that a petition has been submitted to the appropriate quarters to ensure that drivers enjoy best conditions of service.
“We are really suffering. People see us riding in good cars but our pockets are dry, so that is why we are embarking on this strike. This will make our leaders to give us the needed attention,” he said.
He stated that Koforidua and Kumasi are already on a sit down strike and also revealed that a nationwide strike is soon to take place.
Meanwhile, a press conference will be held at Alan Beach on Monday, March 21, 2022.
