Apologize To the People of Enchi – MCE Told

The Omanahene of the Aowin Traditional Area, Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III is calling for an unconditional apology from Mr. Abdul Mumin Issah, the suspended MCE of Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) who demeaned the Enchi Township during a fracas between himself and a police officer.

According to a press statement by the Omanhene Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III, the MCE was expected to apologize to the chiefs and people of Enchi after being granted bail.

The statement has described the MCE’s reference to Enchi as “hurtful, demeaning and undesirable in the infamous scuffle which was meant to bring the name of Enchi and its inhabitants and by extension the illustrious people of Aowin into opprobrium.”

It said that Enchi is not a God-forsaken town but has a peaceful nature, with peace-loving people.

Also adding that Enchi can boast of a government hospital and a College of Education, Enchio built by the Professor K.A.Busia which has produced great people who have passed through the institution.

Even though, the Aowin Township has its challenges, the contribution of its quota to the national economy in terms of cocoa production, timber, gold, and foodstuffs cannot be overlooked.

It further lauded people who resist transfer from Enchi to other towns because of the peaceful nature of the Township.

It ended by inviting Mr. Mumin to offer an apology for his actions with immediate effect.
