Christians told to live a life that reflect the life of Christ to promote development

Rev Seth Ameyaw Danquah has admonished Christians to live a life that reflects the life of Christ devoid of hatred, apathy, corruption and irresponsibility and contribute their bit to the development of the country.

He cited Colossians 2:20 and cautioned, “If we have died with Christ to the basic principles of the world, why do we submit to its decrees as though we still lived in the world?”

Rev Danquah who was speaking as a Guest Speaker at the Share Life Ministries International in Ho further admonished Christians, especially church leaders not to use the Bible for personal gains.

“As the Bible clearly stated, let’s not live our lives as if we do not know Christ but let’s rise from the negative activities hitherto held us captive to help build the country”, he emphasized.

He urged Christians to use the celebration of Easter, which is to remind ourselves of the death of Christ Jesus to promote unity among themselves.

He quoted Ephesians 2:16 which reads, “Through the cross Christ ended the hate between the two groups. And after they became one body, he wanted to bring them both back to God. He did this with his death on the cross.”

He noted that Christ’s love for us was incomparable because His sacrifice and death has made it possible for our sins to be forgiven and to have an eternal home in heaven.

Rev Danquah added that Christ Jesus purposefully chose to die on the cross to indicate his unending love for us and likewise, we must also endure all challenges to demonstrate love to foster peace.

Rev Benjamin Bankas, Head Pastor of the church indicated that the deliverance and the resurrection of Christ ended slavery, failure, domination and shame.

He underscored the need to understand and appreciate our personal benefits in the resurrection, adding that the power of Satan was completely broken while the resurrection brought us liberty to experience the acts of God.

“For Israel and believers in Jesus, there was freedom to serve the living God, and the resurrection of Christ destroyed death for the believer”, he stressed.
