Takoradi Residents Okays Prez Akufo Addo’s renomination of Takoradi MP as Regional Minister
Residents in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region have expressed grateful wishes to President Akufo-Addo for reappointing Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah as Western Regional Minister designate.
According them, the former Western Regional Minister’s appointment is a clear endorsement of the President’s belief in the capacity of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Takoradi Constituency.
The residents who shared their joy about the President’s renomination of the Takoradi Constituency legislator told Spice News in an interview that the region has seen massive infrastructural development under the first term of the NPP-Government and the leadership of Mr Darko-Mensah.
They mentioned a massive boost in economic activities like tourism, business and agriculture especially, under the Planting for Food and Jobs initiative as well as improvement in road infrastructure as some enviable achievements of Mr Darko-Mensah’s tenure as the Regional Minister.
Hon Benjamin Arku, Assembly Member for the Essikafo-Ambantem No.1 Electoral Area in the Takoradi Constituency deemed the President’s renomination as appropriate and a clear demonstration of his love for the people of the constituency after voting massively for the party in the just ended general elections.
He assured the President that the youth of region shall rally behind the government of President Akufo-Addo and Mr Darko-Mensah and work hard to meet the expections of the constituents and the region at large for the party to secure more seats come 2024 and beyond.
He therefore thanked the President and congratulated Mr Darko-Mensah on his renomination as the Western Regional Minister.
