$1.8m from FIFA and CAF to it’s Member Associations isn’t enough: W/R FA Vice, George Dadzie Jnr

The Ghana FA announced a package for it’s stakeholders from the FIFA/CAF Covid-19 relief fund last week which has generated some issues about the allocation of the monies to some sectors.

Latest to join the campaign is the Vice Chairman of the Western Regional Football Association, Mr. George Dadzie Jnr.

Speaking to Abednego on Spice Fm, Mr. Dadzie emphasized

“$1.8m from FIFA and CAF to it’s Member Associations isn’t enough at all, looking at the expenditure and cost incurred by the Member Association in the absence of the game due to the pandemic”

He also disclosed that FIFA did not state specifically when the money will hit their account but they are expecting the first trench in July and second in January 2021.

“We are still waiting for the money but I maintain it’s not enough but for where it’s coming from (FIFA) it’s quite understandable” he added

General Secretary for the GFA, Prosper Harrison Addo, said the association will disburse the money to stakeholders in accordance with directives by the world football governing body.
