NEW YORKERS COULD FACE $500 FINES FOR VOILATING SOCIAL DISTANCING

While New York has become the current hot spot of the world for the Coronavirus, many residents have already elected to stay home and practice social distancing. While officials continue to work to contain the virus clothing down most non essential businesses, stopping gatherings of more than 50 people etc, soon it looks like New Yorkers who don’t follow the rules could be facing a large fine. According to Politico the fines could range from up to $500 would be for larger amounts people congregating in public spaces and fail to listen to officers.

During yesterdays (Sunday March 29th) Mayor Bill De Blasio spoke about the possibility of fining people who do follow the new rules in place.

“You’ve been warned and warned and warned again. When we say you can go out for some exercise, we’re not saying you can linger, we’re not saying you can make a day of it. we’re saying go out, get a minimum amount of exercise and go back indoors. We will be enforcing this but with understanding for the challenges that people are facing, for how new this is.”

So please everyone stay inside and listen to officials!
