DJ MAGNUS LAUDED FOR HIS CALL TO SUPPORT WEST SIDE MUSICIANS
The Western Regions two times best radio DJ, Magnus Koomson, popularly known as DJ Magnus has been commended by the Kwabena Kwabena for calling on businessmen in the region to support the west side musicians especially the upcoming ones at the just ended Western Music Awards organized by Westline Entertainment in Takoradi.
In an exclusive interview with Yoofie Eyeson on the Pimpenaa Show Kwabena Kwabena mentioned that the lack of brotherliness and patriotism among most musicians in Ghana manifest in the level of songs we produce nowadays.
According to him, each production house and individual musicians in the country are thinking of what they get from the music industry today and not concerned about the future of the Ghanaian Music industry.
“This has massively contributed to the fallen standards in our industry today and we are all paying for that” he said.
In his submission, he commends western region’s best radio DJ, DJ Magnus for calling for support from people in the western region especially businessmen and music lovers to support musicians from the western after receiving his best radio DJ award at the second edition of the Western Music
Award held in Takoradi some three weeks ago.
The accomplished Ghanaian musician and guitarist, Kwabena noted that he was overwhelmed by that signal act of plea for support for musicians by no other person than a DJ. That according to him shows how much love western region attach to music industry.
He however added his voice to the call asking industry players in the Western Region to support musician in the region to help project and promote the cultural values of the Western Region and Ghana at large through music as CK Mann, Papa Yanson among others did for the country.
On that fateful night when the Best Radio DJ Award was presented to DJ Magnus at the Best Western Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi these were the exact words from the region’s favourite DJ, “One last thing; please I am begging the big men in Sekondi –Takoradi to support the artiste here financially. I am begging thanks”.
