Demolition Of Unauthorized Structures At The Sekondi Railway Station

Sekondi Railway Station

The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has set Monday, November 7, 2022, to demolish all unauthorized structures at Sekondi Railway Station close to European Town in Sekondi.

This action follows the eviction notice served to owners of affected structures in 2021 and the subsequent stakeholders meeting held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Sekondi Youth Center.

At the said meeting, all the squatters were given two weeks ultimatum, ending Sunday 6th November, 2022 to remove their structures.

Over 400 illegal structures are expected to be removed or demolished to make way for the relocation of traders towards reconstruction of the Sekondi market.

The Assembly therefore wishes to remind and urge all affected persons to comply with the directive before expiration of the ultimatum.

The exercise will be carried out on the said date without any further notice whatsoever.
