Sekondi-Takoradi to Witness Massive Christmas Under Christmas City Project

Coming events they say cast their shadow. The aroma of fantasy around Christmas is already being felt. The die is cast and the pendulum swings but to where? All roads definitely lead to the Twin City of Sekondi-Takoradi, the twin capital of the Western Region, Ghana.

The countdown to this year’s Christmas in the Twin City has already begun, with revellers looking forward to the apex of all time 24th and 25th of December. This year’s events promise to be thrilling and fully fan-packed as it begins from the first week of December to the next year.

Sekondi-Takoradi Christmas City Project

This year’s celebration is expected to attract over two hundred thousand (200,000) visitors to the Twin City.

One may be wondering about where to sleep at night after all the merrymaking during the occasion. Just relax and come prepared, those who choose to spend the nights will be presented with an array of 4-star hotels to its bearest minimum to choose from.

The Sekondi-Takoradi Christmas City Project is an initiative of the WRCC Investment Centre under the auspices of the Western Region Minister. All this year’s activities under the Project will be held at the Takoradi Mall.

The project will seek the collaboration of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Effia-Kwesimintim Municipal Assembly (EKMA) and all the Offices of the five Members of Parliament within the two MMDAs as well as all the allied agencies and co-opted partners.

Mr Charles Cobbina, Western Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) is the Coordinator for all the activities encompassing the Sekondi-Takoradi Christmas City Project.

He tells Spice News that all was set for the occasion beginning with the launching of a range of souvenirs to position the City as an international destination for Christmas.

He mentioned the “Paint Your House for Christmas Campaign” as one of the initiatives heralding the Project and encouraged landlords/ladies to be part of the campaign.

He said his outfit is on a mission to sensitize all the community leaders to be part of developing the project and members of the communities to own the evolution of the Christmas City Project and spearhead the greater agenda of Mpohor, Shama, Daboase and Agona Nkwanta benefitting from the spiral effect of the entertainment and tourism business.

In case you are scared about the spread of COVID-19 just keep your calm. Arrangements have been made between the masquerade groups and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to vaccinate all members before the activities start.
