OSP threatens to declare Ken Ofori-Atta wanted again if…

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has warned former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta that he will be declared a wanted person once again if he does not show up for questioning on Monday, June 2, 2025.

This warning follows a lawsuit filed by Mr. Ofori-Atta against the OSP and its head, Kissi Agyebeng, in which he accuses them of unlawfully declaring him wanted.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) issued a statement clarifying that Mr. Ofori-Atta had personally requested to be removed from its wanted list, assuring authorities that he would appear for questioning on a specified date.

Acting in good faith, the OSP temporarily removed his name from the list but emphasized that failure to comply would result in his immediate re-listing as a fugitive.

Should this occur, the OSP has warned it will issue an Interpol Red Notice for his arrest and initiate extradition proceedings in any jurisdiction where he may be located.

The Special Prosecutor reaffirmed its commitment to upholding accountability, noting that Mr. Ofori-Atta remains the prime suspect in five ongoing investigations related to corruption and misconduct.
