Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak sets potential world record with 227-Hour non-stop cooking marathon

Ghanaian chef Failatu Abdul-Razak has potentially set a new world record by cooking continuously for over 227 hours.

Draped in her country’s flag, Abdul-Razak concluded the marathon with an emotional salute to the crowd in Tamale.

Describing the feat as a “national assignment” for Ghana, she expressed her determination to make it challenging for anyone attempting to break the record in the future.

The current record is held by Irishman Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes.

Abdul-Razak received support from politicians, celebrities, and the Ghanaian military during her cook-a-thon.

Last year, Hilda Baci set the cook-a-thon record before she was surpassed by Mr. Fisher.

In December, Ghanaian personality Afua Asantewaa completed a five-day singing marathon in hopes of securing a Guinness World Record.

Guinness World Records responded to Ms Abdul-Razak’s feat on X, formerly known as Twitter by saying: “We look forward to reviewing her evidence!”
