NPP Aspiring Candidate Denounces ‘Alien’ Label in Essikado Ketan

The Parliamentary Aspirant of the New Patriotic Party in the Essikado Ketan Constituency, Charles Onuawonto Bissue, says it is ‘evil’ for people to refer to him as an alien in the Essikado Ketan Area.

He disclosed that he is a son of Ahantaland, and the assertion that he is a stranger contesting for the Essikado-Ketan seat is false.

Mr. Bissue entreated his contenders to focus on embarking on a clean campaign devoid of name-calling.

He noted this in an interview with Arafat Musah on the Western Echo Show earlier this morning.

” With my experience, I do not normally delve into things like that, because it’s like going into an exam and someone envisioning that someone ahead of them gets 50 percent. I hate to go into something tribal, but I’m the only Ahanta in this race.

There is a roundabout named ‘Bissue’; there is a Bissue house here, so if you are talking about lineage, I’m from here.

If you sojourn to a certain area and you come and tell the indigene that he’s not, the gods will not even forgive you.”

Mr. Charles Bissue is, however, confident that the delegates will vote for him to become the parliamentary candidate for Essikado-Ketan going into the 2024 general elections.

He adds that he will leverage the legacies built by the former Member of Parliament for the electoral area, Joe Ghartey.

“From what I’ve done over the years, it’s not turning up on the pitch. You turn up the pitch and play to the formation. I’m not there to beat Joe Ghartey; what he’s done, I’m gonna build on it so that the people I’m going to bring on board will expand what he’s done, and impact on people’s lives,”
