Properties running into Thousands of cedis have been destroyed by fire in a chamber and hall apartment at Zenith Electoral Area, a suburb of Takoradi in the Western Region.
According to Kwame, an eyewitness, the fire started around 1:10 pm when he heard people shouting to draw attention to the incident. Upon reaching the scene the fire had already started.
Items such as clothing, cooking utensils, furniture, and others were damaged by the fire.
Narrating the incident to Beach Newsroom, the occupant of the house (Auntie Esi) who spoke off record said, she was asleep when her daughter came to alert her of smoke emanating from the kitchen.
She then rushed to the kitchen to see for herself what her daughter was talking about.
She then realized that the fire had started and was spreading into the other rooms.
The Ghana National Fire Service came to put the fire under control, but the victim was not able to retrieve any belongings.
She mentioned that the Fire Service told her that the fire was caused by a faulty electrical cable.
Fortunately, no casualty was recorded.
