Takoradi Airforce Recruit Training School Graduate 344 Airforce Officers
A total of 344 recruits comprising 124 females and 220 males have successfully completed their 6 months of training at the Air Force Recruit Training School, Air Force Base, Takoradi.
The course 1/2023 passing out parade is the 25th intake since the school was moved to the Air Force Base, Takoradi in 1995.
Speaking at the ceremony on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe, the Air Force Base Commander, Air Commodore Godfred Sackey Parker, congratulated the recruits upon the successful completion of their training, adding that the path they have chosen requires an unwavering dedication to duty and willingness to face adversity head-on.
The recruits were taken through various training activities, including boxing, navigation exercises, steeplechase, cross country, and drill competitions, among others.
He therefore urged them to put the welfare of others above theirs as their job demands sacrifice. He reminded them that, being an airman is not just a profession, but a calling which comes with great responsibility that needs continuous learning and growth.
He encouraged them, to embrace every opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in order to excel. Commodore Parker said the strength of the Armed Forces lies in unity and cooperation and asked the recruits to always remember that being a part of the military means being a part of a team.
The officers were advised to avoid using the uniform to bully others, abstain from engaging in land guard activities, participate in galamsey activities, or act solely for personal gains, and strive hard to uphold the values of integrity, fairness, and teamwork in the line of duty.
Plaques and 32-inch television sets were awarded to some deserving recruits who performed well in the areas of best in drill, best in physical training, best in weapon and skill at arms, best in tactics and best in academics.
