NDC Set May 13 For Presidential, Parliamentary Primaries

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has decided that the presidential and parliamentary primaries will take place on May 13, 2023, in preparation for the 2024 elections.

According to Fifi Kwetey, the Party’s General Secretary, who spoke at a news conference. Nominations will be accepted from February 22 through February 24, 2023, and nomination papers must be submitted between March 20 and 22 of that same year.

He says that March 27th to March 29th, 2023, will be the time for possible candidates to be vetted.

The parliamentary filing fees are GH40,000.00 (non-refundable) for males and GH20,000.00 for females and persons with disabilities.

The Presidential hopefuls are to pay a non-refundable fee of GH500,000.00, and “the Parliamentary and Presidential primaries will be conducted simultaneously across the 276 constituencies in the country”.
The additional Constituency according to the Party is SALL (Satrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi, Likpe) in the Oti Region.

The timetable includes guidelines for the conduct of the elections as well as who qualified under the party constitution and the Republic of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution.
