Residents of Assakae, a suburb of the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA) continue to bemoan the deplorable nature of roads in their community.
The road is not tarred and it is filled with potholes which makes commuting difficult for motorists.
Some of the residents who spoke to Beach Newsroom complained that the dusty nature of the road exposes them to various health risks and this is of great concern to them.
According to the people, commercial drivers sometimes refuse to work due to the bad nature of the road.
“The drivers refuse to load their vehicles into the township because they do not want to incur damages to their vehicles”
Madam Vero operates a small provision shop and complains of the constant cleaning of dust that settles on her wares. She said, her health is at risk due to the dust from the dusty road.
The Assembly Member for Assakae Electoral Area, Alex Nana Acheampong says the road has been awarded on contract and work will soon begin.
