The Presiding Bishop of Methodist Ghana, Most Revered Paul Kwabena Boafo has admonished all Ghanaians to be on the lookout for men of God who defraud people.

Speaking to the media at the induction service of the new Bishop, Rt Rev. Emmanuel Kwasi Ansah at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral in Sekondi, Most Rev. Boafo advised individuals not to look too vulnerable when they go visiting men of God so as not to be treated anyhow for the sake of religion.

“These fake pastors do not only take monies from vulnerable church members but the way they treat people makes it look like they were not created by God. Such people must be dealt with by law. You can’t treat anybody anyhow for the sake of religion. God abhors that.

That is why Christians and Ghanaians must open their eyes very wide,” He said.

Touching on the issue of illegal mining he said, all who engage in these activities belong to either the Christian or Muslim community.

However, it should not be politicised as the effect of the menace will affect generations unborn, stating that emphasis is on the effect of depleting the lands and vegetation order than a few individuals aiming at becoming wealthy.

“It is high time, the church stood up to fight against illegal mining. The vegetation was created for the benefits of mankind and so as christians we are to be good stewards.

If at the moment, Ghanaians are seeking money for themselves, we should stand up and condemn them irrespective of their status in the church or community,” He added.
