Inflation For June Up By 42.5%

The overall price level of goods and services in a fixed basket that families bought in June 2023 was 42.5 per cent higher than in June 2022, according to the year-over-year inflation rate, which was 42.5 per cent in that month.

Between May and June 2023, monthly inflation was 3.2 per cent.

The government statistician, Professor Samuel Kobina Annim, stated at a news conference in Accra for the release of the June 2023 Consumer Price Index and Inflation that the inflation for domestically produced goods was 35.9% while the inflation for imported goods was 44.5% over the same time.

“Food inflation (0.437) was 54.2% (it was 51.8°% last month. Food inflation from month to month was 3.9%.
