The Chairman of the Local organizing committee of the All African Games held in Accra, Dr. Ofosu Asare is skeptical about the National Sports Authority’s capability to use and maintain the newly built Borteyman complex.

Dr. Ofosu Asare stated that the NSA lacks the adequate resources to maintain the Borteyman facility, the games village and the Legon stadium.

The NSA over the years have come under immense scrutiny for neglecting other facilities in the country.

Dr. Ofosu Asare told the media that he admits to the challenges faced by the NSA stating “we have to also say that because the NSA has also not been really seriously resourced to handle some of these things, one has to be fair”.

In view of this Dr. Ofosu Asare reiterated the importance of adopting a Private-Public Partnership model for sustainability, if we want to generate commercial viability for these facilities.

“I will argue for a PPP, I wouldn’t want it to be run by a state institution so that you can have sustainability”.
