The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially launched its campaign team in the Essikado Ketan constituency, marking the beginning of its quest to maintain control of the constituency in the upcoming elections.
The inauguration ceremony, held, was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including incumbent MP Hon Joe Ghartey, Regional Minister Hon. Dr. Okyere Darko Mensah, and Hon Kennedy Agyapong.
The Essikado Ketan constituency is a crucial battleground in the political landscape, with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) keen to capture the seat.
However, the NPP is confident of not only retaining its seat but also increasing its margin of victory from 2,174 votes in the 2020 parliamentary election to an impressive 10,000 votes on December 7th.
Addressing the gathering, Hon Kennedy Agyapong commended the enthusiasm and energy of the youths, urging them to remain committed to the party’s cause. He advised parliamentary candidate Charles Cromwell Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue to embrace servant leadership and avoid insults, focusing instead on addressing the needs of the constituents.
” The Bible says in Matthew that anyone who wants to be a leader should first become a servant before the people accept him or her. So, my brother Bissue, I want to tell you to become a servant leader, Continue with your campaign devoid of insults,”
Outgoing MP, Hon Joe Ghartey, took the opportunity to highlight his achievements during his tenure, appealing for unity and support for Bissue as he takes the reins. He emphasized the importance of continuity and collective effort in driving the constituency forward.
He said, “We are ready to take our record against anybody’s record. Essikado-Ketan is grateful for the development NPP has brought to the Consitutency. Talk of the roads from Kojokrom to Essikado, and the school infrastructure at Ntaamakrom, Inchaban Nkwanta and the like, Some of the communities in the Constituency had no potable drinking water and electricity but during my tenure, they benefited from it.”
Charles Cromwell Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Hon Kennedy Agyapong and Hon Joe Ghartey for their unwavering support, attributing his experiences to the divine guidance in his life. He pledged to prioritize developmental projects in the constituency, ensuring that the needs of the people are addressed and their lives improved if elected.
The NPP’s campaign team launch is a clear indication of the party’s confidence in retaining the constituency. With a strong team in place and a united front, the party is poised to deliver a decisive victory on December 7th.
