Police Opens Investigation to Unravel the Cause of Death of Supt. Zenge
The Western Regional Police Command has stated that though preliminary investigation leading to the death of Superintendent Cyprian Zenge, the Jomoro Municipal Police Commander points to suicide, the investigation is opened to unravel the true circumstances leading to his death.
It said, the Regional Crime Scene Team has already visited the crime scene, where he was found sitting in a blue chair with a gunshot wound on his forehead, with his pistol beside him on the floor and one spent ammunition under the chair.
Meanwhile, what appears to be a note written by the Officer was also found at the scene.
It would be recalled that the Jomoro Municipality woke up in the early hours of Saturday to the troubling news of the suicide committed by the Officer in his residence.
In a Press Statement issued and signed by DSP Olivia Adiku, Western Regional Police PRO, the demise of the Officer has been communicated to the Officer’s family and expressed the Command’s condolences to the family.
She therefore called on the Ghanaian populace to be sensitive to any commentary or reports regarding the death of the Municipal Commander as investigation goes on to unravel the real cause leading to the action of his suicide.
