NDC Central Reg. Chair – We’ll snatch Assin Central from Ken Agyapong and NPP

NDC

The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region, Professor Richard Asiedu, has issued a statement indicating that the NDC plans to win the Assin Central parliamentary seat from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Currently occupied by Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, who aspires to be the NPP’s flagbearer in the 2024 general elections, the Assin Central seat is being targeted by the NDC. However, Prof. Asiedu advised Agyapong to focus on his presidential ambitions and relinquish the seat, as the NDC is confident of securing it in 2024.

Assuring their supporters, Prof. Asiedu mentioned that the Assin area, once considered an NPP stronghold, has now become a strong base for the NDC. He stated that in the upcoming elections, the NDC aims to win at least two out of the three seats in Assin.

Speaking at a rally held at the Methodist School Park in Assin Breku to conclude the NDC’s Thank You tour, which was attended by the party’s flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama, Prof. Asiedu expressed confidence in taking the Assin Central seat from Agyapong.

The Thank You tour was organized to express gratitude to the constituents of Assin North for their support in the June 27 by-election, which was won by the NDC candidate, James Gyakye Quayson.
