MOYS Head Isaac Asiamah perturbed about delay of Ghana Premier League

Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Minister for Youth and Sports has come clean on how perturbed he is regarding the delay of the topflight division and has demanded the Premier League Board to ensure all hanging problems are settled for a safe running of the season.
An Interlocutory Injunction from Accra Great Olympics served to the Ghana Football Association days to the start of the 2017-18 Ghana Premier League placed the season in an indefinite suspension and the two battle out the case in court.
The Accra club had a case with the Appeals Committee of the FA for adjudication, but suspected that they could be neglected with fears that the league was to be launched while there is no verdict on their case.



The injunction served the FA compelled the federation to call off the annual Ordinary Congress as well as the launch and start of the Premier League – a development that is worrying the Minister.
“To have the league postponed indefinitely due to the injunction is indeed a worry not only to me but the people of Ghana having listened to media commentaries concerning the injunction,” the Minister said.
“This is a country where football is the passion of the nation and so to see the league’s commencement put on hold indefinitely affects the game.
“It deprives both the players and the football sporting fraternity what they love to do and this ultimately indicts us as a country with great football history.”
“Once the matter is before the courts, it is my hope that the case is settled soon to pave way for our league to start,” he noted.
Reports from several sources claim the Minister, Isaac Asiamah has held talks with top ranked officials of the GFA to find solutions to problem holding on to the start of the season.
