Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church Elects New Bishop

The Very Reverend Emmanuel Kwesi Ansah has been elected Bishop of the Sekondi diocese after pulling 116 votes out of 200, with a percentage of 58.

Brother Abraham A. Aikins also pulled 145 votes out of 202 which represents 71.8% to become the Diocesan Lay Chairman-elect. The election formed part of activities of the 61st Synod of the Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church in Sekondi.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Synod, the outgoing Bishop of the Diocese, the Right Reverend Daniel De-Graft Brace congratulated all who have been elected into various positions, especially the Very Reverend Emmanuel Kwesi Ansah who is taking over from him.

” I want to congratulate them and urge them to appreciate each other. They should learn to appreciate the gift, talent, graces of each other and then bring it together for the enhancement of the work of God in the diocese and the Methodist as a whole,” he said.

He also charged them to be united in all they do in order to unite the Methodist flock in the Diocese. He also outlined a few policies that those who have been elected must look into.

For his part, the Bishop-elect, the Very Rev. Emmanuel Kwesi Ansah thanked God for the honor bestowed on him and also congratulated all others who have elected for various positions in the church.

He urged everyone to collaborate with him and his team to be able to deliver the good things they have in store for the Diocese. He also touched on plans being put in place to grow the church as well as put members in good standing in terms of finances and employment by helping them raise funds to start up various businesses.
