ECOWAS

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) has called on ECOWAS member states as well as the continent to redouble efforts towards rebuilding democracy and consolidating the peace eroded by the series of armed insurgencies toppling governments and distorting the constitution in the affected countries in the subregion such as Mali , Burkina Faso and Guniea.

Speaking at a two-day Regional Conference on Media and Democracy in West Africa , Executive director for the Media Foundation for West Africa, Sulemana Briamah reveals that there has been a rapid recession in democracy in two years, citing the media as one of the worst hit sectors.
