I will apply for Black Stars job if it’s enticing – Ex Black Stars Coach
Former Black Stars head coach, James Kwasi Appiah, says he won’t shy away from a third stint with the national team should the opportunity be made available.
The 62-year-old was relieved of his duties for the second time in January 2020 after just 20 games in charge, winning nine, drawing six and losing five.
Prior to his second spell, the former Ghana player had also been in charge of the team between 2012 and 2014, including leading the team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
However, Appiah has not ruled himself out of being on the job for the third time.
“It depends on how they put it out there. If I think it is enticing then automatically I will,” he told Joy Sports’ Muftawu Nabila Abdulai when quizzed about whether he will apply for the Black Stars job.
“If they put it out there, I will apply.”
The Black Stars coaching job has been vacant since Otto Addo left the role immediately after the 2022 World Cup elimination.
