The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) is warning that, strict sanctions would be applied to businesses that may attempt to tamper their virtual system for deploying seamless electronic vat invoices.
The Authority is expected to begin the use of the system this month to prevent fraud and fake invoicing in the country.
Chief Revenue Officer at Commissioner General Nathaniel Tetteh said efforts are being put in place to deal with unscrupulous individuals that may disrupt the system.
“It’s an electronic system and we pray that nobody tampers with our system. The Commissioner General gave an advise that when you start using the machines, use it holistically, purposely for service you render.
Those who are starting with the E-VAT, we beg them to holistically use the electronic device. Don’t tamper with it and you will be right with the law, ” He said.
