West Blue

West Blue Ghana Limited has filed a lawsuit at the Commercial Division of the High Court in Accra against the Attorney-General (AG) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) over the termination of the National Single Window and Integrated Risk Management System (NSW) contract, totaling more than GH¢289 million.

Originally contracted on August 4, 2015, to facilitate efficient cargo clearing through sea and airports, the GRA and Ministry of Finance terminated the agreement during NSW services.

After unsuccessful attempts to recover outstanding debts, West Blue initiated legal action, seeking GH¢149,357,692.71 for services from September 2015 to September 2017, GH¢76,097,917.58 for October 2017 to December 31, 2018, and GH¢64,092,215.07 for January 1, 2019, to May 2020.

The claim also includes equipment procurement and additional services provided under the NSW contract. West Blue asserts the NSW contract aligned with the government’s policy for a National Electronic Single Window, promoting efficiency and cost savings in cross-border cargo movements.

The company supported the GRA and related agencies in implementing this government program.
