A judgment date of December 4, 2023, has been set by the Accra High Court in the case of Aisha Huang, a purported illegal miner.

A judgment date of December 4, 2023, has been set by the Accra High Court in the case of En Huang, also known as Aisha Huang, a purported illegal miner.

Informing the court that they had submitted their written addresses to the court, the defense attorney and the prosecution appeared in court.

Aisha Huang is on trial for engaging in illegal mining operations without a permit, encouraging others to engage in such activities, and returning to Ghana after being expelled.

Aisha, who is being held in a prison, has refuted the accusations. The complainants are officers in the security and intelligence sectors, according to the State’s argument.

According to the prosecution, Aisha became “notorious” for participating in numerous small-scale mining operations known as “galamsey” across the nation.

According to the report, Aisha was detained in 2017 for committing a comparable offense, but she was able to escape the country and avoid being prosecuted. Upon her return, she allegedly started small-scale mining operations without a permit.
