The unfolding saga surrounding former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah, has taken a notably more dramatic turn.

Following the shocking revelation of embezzlement by her domestic staff, the Office of the Special Prosecutor initiated an extensive search of the minister’s residences, prompted by the substantial amounts reported as stolen.

Startling details have emerged from the Office of the Special Prosecutor, indicating that a significant sum of US$590,000 in cash was discovered during the search at Cecilia Dapaah, the former Minister’s Abelemkpe residence.

Simultaneously, an astonishing amount of GHC2.730,000 in cash was also found at the same location. Prompt action was taken by officials from the Office of the Special Prosecutor to seize these substantial cash sums, which are deemed crucial evidence in support of the ongoing investigation.

As a consequence, the Office of the Special Prosecutor has frozen both the cedi and dollar accounts of the ex-minister, pending further investigation.

An Accra High Court has scheduled Thursday, August 17, as the date for a ruling on whether to confirm the freezing of Cecilia Dapaah’s various accounts or not.
