Nutrifoods announces major recall of Tasty Tom Mix after consumer complaints and FDA directive

Nutrifoods Ghana Limited, a joint venture between Olam and Sanyo, has launched an immediate and comprehensive recall of its Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix, following directives from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and National Security.

The recall was prompted by consumer reports of bloating in some cans and pouches of the product.

The recall affects all batches of the 210g and 400g canned versions, as well as specific batches of the 380g and 1.05kg pouches. The recalled pouches carry batch numbers: 20072501/P1, 20072501/P2, 20072502/P1, 20072502/P2 (all with an expiry date of 20/1/2027); 21072501/P3, 21072501/P4, 21072502/P3, 21072502/P4 (all with an expiry date of 21/1/2027); and 24072501/P1, 24072501/P2, 24072502/P1, 24072502/P2 (all with an expiry date of 24/1/2027).
