Former Wassa Fiase Traditional Council Registrar and alleged chief granted bail for forged documents

Alfred Duoodu, the former registrar of the Wassa Fiase Traditional Council, and alleged chief Emmanuel Assoua Nyami, a businessman, have been granted bail by the Sekondi High Court’s “Gender Court”. Both individuals are facing serious charges related to an alleged forgery of chieftaincy documents concerning the Wassa Fiase Omanhene chieftaincy issues.

During their appearance at the Sekondi High Court’s Circuit Court yesterday, the accused entered not guilty pleas to 5 out of 6 charges presented by the prosecutor, Superintendent Mohammed Tanko Yusif.

The charges against them include: 1. Conspiracy to commit forgery of an official document (Emmanuel Assoua and Alfred Duoodu), 2. Forgery of an official document (Alfred Duoodu), 3. Uttering a forged document (Emmanuel Assoua), 4. Uttering a forged document (Alfred Duoodu), and 5. Making false statements with the intent to deceive a public officer (Emmanuel Assoua and Alfred Duoodu). The sixth charge—acting as a chief without being qualified—will undergo further consideration in subsequent court sessions.
