Mempeasem: Missing woman found dead after three days

Residents of Mempeasem in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis were left in shock after a woman who had been missing for three days was found dead under mysterious circumstances.

The deceased, identified as Sister Lardi and believed to be in her 50s, reportedly left home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, to dispose of household waste but never returned. Her husband, popularly known as Uncle Diena, confirmed that all attempts to reach her proved futile until the tragic discovery on Saturday, July 19.

According to an eyewitness, Brother Sekyei, he found Sister Lardi’s lifeless body with her mobile phone lying beside her. Though initially suspicious, Sekyei charged the phone and began calling some of the saved contacts. One of the calls connected with a family member, who was informed of the unfortunate incident.

Police were alerted and quickly arrived at the scene to retrieve the body, which has since been deposited at the mortuary pending further investigation.

The circumstances surrounding Sister Lardi’s disappearance and sudden death remain unclear, stirring anxiety and sorrow in the Mempeasem community as investigations continue.
