Ghana is not for sale—Hassan Ayariga criticizes government over Nigerian’s land acquisition plans

APC Founder Hassan Ayariga Condemns Nigerian National’s Alleged Land Acquisition for ‘Private Kingdom’

Founder of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Hassan Ayariga, has strongly criticized a Nigerian national for allegedly acquiring over 50 acres of land in Ghana with the intention of establishing a personal kingdom.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, July 8, 2025, Dr. Ayariga called the development “alarming” and described it as a “direct threat to the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Ghana.”

“This act is illegal, unacceptable, and must not be condoned by any responsible government,” Dr. Ayariga emphasized.

“The Republic of Ghana is a sovereign nation governed by laws, not a playground for foreign nationals to pursue personal empires at the expense of our people’s security and dignity.”

Dr. Ayariga expressed concern that the acquisition of vast tracts of land by a foreign individual is “deeply offensive and insensitive” to Ghanaians struggling to find jobs and afford basic accommodation.

“Our hospitality as a people must not be mistaken for weakness or foolishness,” he warned.

The APC founder is calling on the government to take swift and decisive action, including revoking all land documents and permits associated with the acquisition, arresting and prosecuting the Nigerian national involved, and issuing a public statement from the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to address the matter.

“Ghana is not for sale. Our freedom is not negotiable. Our people deserve better,” Dr. Ayariga declared.

Dr. Ayariga urged Ghanaians to “speak out, stand up, and defend our land and our nation.”

“This is our country, and we will protect it,” he declared.
