The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is scheduled to meet with the Kusaug Traditional Council on Monday, June 30, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to foster lasting peace in the conflict-affected Bawku area.
A press release from the Manhyia Palace, issued on Sunday, June 29, confirmed the meeting and emphasized the Asantehene’s unwavering commitment to resolving the long-standing tensions in the region.
“His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, will meet with the Kusaug Traditional Council on Monday, 30th June, 2025,” the statement said.
The Manhyia Palace also appealed to all sides involved in the crisis to support the peace process. “Asantehene requests all stakeholders to cooperate for us to find a lasting peace in Bawku,” it added.
