Dr (PhD) Vivian Maame Aba Dadzie, Chairperson of the USA chapter of National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appealed to President John Dramani Mahama, to include Ghanaians in the diaspora into his government.
“I make this passionate appeal to the government and party leadership, that they should not overlook those in the diaspora”
These Ghanaians in the diaspora, she noted have acquired knowledge and skills abroad, following their exploits and career growth overseas. She said they have developed themselves more than enough to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the government and for that matter the country.
“We have Doctors, Engineers, policy experts, tech innovators, finance professionals, and entrepreneurs, who are ready to contribute to nation building” appealed passionately.
She made the appeal while addressing members of the diaspora at an annual conference and victory party organised by the NDC Chapter in the USA recently to celebrate the 2024 election victory of NDC.
According to Dr (PhD) Maame Aba Dadzie, the NDC members in the diaspora who have contributed significantly to the party’s victory, must not be sidelined following the victory secured by the party “These group of professionals, are architects of global innovation”
She therefore appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to make good use of their brains as he shepherds the country with all inclusive mindset, integrity, and honesty.
“Let us not leave these powerful resources untapped” she emphasized.
The USA Chairperson of NDC noted “We humbly request that some appointments in advisory roles and recognition be extended to the NDC in the diaspora”
Dr (PhD) Maame Aba Dadzie explained that the role played by the NDC in the diaspora, shouldn’t be swept under carpet following the unprecedented victory chalked by the party.
“Political capital must be rewarded if we are to keep the the flame of commitment burning” she underscored.
Explaining the critical role played by the NDC chapter in the USA in various ways , the iron lady revealed that the contribution made by the group, clearly demonstrated shared commitment to the party, an absolute change in the political narrative, which eventually paid off and offered the NDC back home the required support to secure the unprecedented victory in the last elections.
“Before elections, we had positioned this chapter as a strategic arm of the party, reliable, credible and impactful” she observed
The NDC stalwart advised members of the party in the diaspora to be circumspect in their comments and social media engagements.
“The baton has been passed. We are no longer an opposition in exile, we are stakeholders in power and with power comes responsibility” she advised.
Deput National Organizer of NDC, Elikem Kotoko was the main national executive who graced the occasion.
He assured the NDC members abroad to remain steadfast and support every step of the administration of President John Dramani Mahama to deliver results for Ghanaians.
