Spice FM’s Abaidoo Abednego lands top role at IFFA

The International Federation of Football Agents (IFFA) has officially appointed Ghanaian sports journalist and football intermediary Abaidoo Abednego as a board member and regional director for Ghana at the International Federation of Football Agents (IFFA), becoming the first Ghanaian to hold such a position within the global football agents’ body.
The announcement marks a significant milestone both in Abaidoo’s professional journey and in the representation of Ghanaian football interests at the international level.
In a statement shared following his appointment, Abaidoo expressed gratitude and a sense of duty on his Facebook Page: “I’m humbled and honored to share that I have been appointed as a board member and Regional Director for Ghana at IFFA – International Federation of Football Agents.

Abaidoo Abednego is well-known in Ghana’s sports media landscape, having served as a journalist with Spice 91.9 FM, a subsidiary of Focus One Media, for over a decade. In 2024, he was among the professionals who secured the official intermediary certificate under FIFA regulations—a milestone that drew widespread coverage in the local sports press. He currently represents GFarok Sports Agency, one of West Africa’s leading intermediary agencies.
His new role at IFFA will see him contribute to policy formulation, representation, and advocacy for agents operating in Ghana and the broader West African region.

It promotes ethical conduct, transparency, and the protection of agent and player rights while working closely with governing bodies to influence regulations that impact the global football ecosystem.
