Alleged carjacking Kingpin Solomon Tetteh arrested in Krobo after Police manhunt

Police have arrested Solomon Siaw Tetteh, the alleged ringleader of a carjacking syndicate operating in the Krobo area. Tetteh had been on the police wanted list in connection with a series of vehicle thefts.
He was apprehended on Sunday, May 18, in Nuaso, a community in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality. His arrest comes days after he evaded capture during a police raid on his residence, during which three of his accomplices were detained to assist with investigations.
According to police, the gang targeted vehicles in several towns, including Nkurakan, Asesewa, Somanya, and Ada Magazine. The stolen vehicles were reportedly dismantled and converted into coal pots.
While transporting Tetteh to the Koforidua Divisional Police Headquarters, officers had to divert from the Nkurakan-Asaman road after receiving intelligence that a group of angry youth had blocked it, allegedly intending to harm Tetteh in retaliation for his crimes in their community. The police used an alternate route to avoid confrontation and ensure his safe transfer.
At the police station, Tetteh was paraded alongside recovered stolen vehicles and tricycles. Despite the mounting evidence and the presence of victims, he denied all allegations.
Investigations are ongoing, and authorities say efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining members of the gang. Tetteh will be formally charged once investigations conclude.
