Government set up task force to oversee National Airline operations

The government has set up a 10-member task force to help establish a new national airline. This move is part of efforts to grow Ghana’s aviation industry and boost regional air connectivity.
The team is made up of experts in aviation, government officials, and other important partners. Their job is to guide and manage the process of starting the airline.
The task force is chaired by Mr. Charles Asare, former Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, with Mr. Twumasi Ankra Selby, an aviation industry expert, serving as Vice-Chairman.
Others include Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare (Managing Director, Ghana Airports Company), Mr. Hugh Tamakloe( Aviation Expert), Mr. Benjamin Alhijah (Aviation Expert), Rev. Stephen Arthur (Director General for Ghana Civil Aviation), Madam Patricia Bonsu (Aviation Expert), Madam Joyce Bawa Mogtari (Former Deputy Transport Minister and Lawyer), Mr. Daniel Acquah(Former Deputy Director General Technical, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority), and a representative from the Ministry of Transport.
According to the letter, the task force is expected to finalize the airline’s business and operating plans and talk with possible partners and investors. Also, make sure all rules and approvals are followed, help organise staff, aircraft, and flight routes, and send updates and suggestions to the President’s Office through the Transport Ministry.
