Spice 91.9 FM engages New Takoradi residents in community consultation

Spice 91.9 FM, a leading radio station in the Takoradi Metropolis, has demonstrated its commitment to fostering meaningful connections with local communities.
In a bid to address community concerns to bring about development in the Metropolis, they have engaged residents of New Takoradi in a community consultation.
The event brought together residents and local leaders with the aim of identifying and addressing key issues affecting the area.
The consultation was structured as a series of interactive sessions, with community members sharing their experiences, challenges, and suggestions for improvement.
New Takoradi, a fishing community in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, is saddled with unsanitary conditions, a lack of proper latrine facilities, youth unemployment, and growing security issues.

According to the residents, without sufficient latrines, many of them are forced to rely on open spaces, which contributes to unsanitary conditions and also poses risks to public health.
The lack of proper waste disposal systems and the frequent accumulation of garbage in public spaces have contributed to a deteriorating environment that poses significant health risks to residents. The absence of adequate latrine facilities, particularly in the densely populated areas, has compounded the problem, making sanitation a serious concern for many families.
They called on authorities to immediately address the concerns raised and bring development to the area.
