Deloitte, an Auditing and Advisory Partner Firm, has praised the tax reforms introduced in the 2025 budget, calling them beneficial for business growth.
Dr. Daniel Owusu, the Country Managing Partner at Deloitte, stated that the budget lays a solid foundation for business transformation as the economy rebounds.
He expressed confidence that the tax reforms and initiatives outlined in the budget will be key drivers of economic expansion.
“We are in a situation, where we have to tighten our belts, a little bit. You’ll see the government doing that. Some of it you can see them as cosmetic but its very important in terms of the reduction of ministers, we have to rationalise expenditure. We have to do a lot more.
For me, somebody has to suffer, and the way I see it is that, generally it is more positive, and we are hoping that, it will also incentivise businesses to do more, and once that is able to that, then we can see, the change we are expecting to see in the system,”
Meanwhile, Economic Advisor to the President Seth Terkper hinted at potential reviews within the tax system aimed at broadening the tax base and increasing compliance.
