Nsoatreman FC withdraw from all GFA-related competitions
Nsoatreman Football Club have announced their withdrawal from all competitions organized by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) including the Ghana Premier League.
In a press release, the Nsoatre-based club have explained that the decision is as a result of issue relating to the security of their players and technical team.
The management of the club believe the security of their players cannot be guaranteed after all efforts for the GFA to provide them with adequate security when traveling for matches went fruitless, hence the decision to withdraw from all competitions with immediate effect.
BACKGROUND
Nsoatreman FC have been in the news for the bad reason following the attack of Asante Kotoko staunch supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong otherwise known as Nana Pooley.
Pooley was stabbed to death during Nsoatreman FC game against Asante Kotoko at the Nana Koramansah Park in Nsoatre on January 3, 2025.
The new of his death sparked lot of controversies in the media space, leading to the suspension of the Ghana Premier League.
Police investigation has led to the arrest of about six individuals with the prime suspect, Braimah currently on the run.
Pooley was buried on March 6, 2025 in Kumasi with football loving fans all over the country attending.
