Yaw Ampofo Ankrah appointed NSA Director-General
The Ghanaian sports journalism space has been handed huge recognition as Yaw Ampofo Ankrah will now lead the National Sports Authority as the Director-General role.
The renowned sports journalist has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama to occupy the enviable position at the authority.
This becomes the first time in recent years that a sports broadcaster has been appointed to head the authority in the capacity as the Director-General.
As a successful journalist with global recognition, Ankrah’s appointment comes as not surprising to many considering his extensive experience and robust interest in developing sport.
He is known for taking Ghana Beach Soccer to international recognition as the president of the federation.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah is expected to work hand-in-hand with the Minister of Sports and Recreation Hon. Kofi Adams to develop and coordinate sporting events in Ghana.
