Chris Hughton admits to pressure of coaching Black Stars

Former Black Stars gaffer, Chris Hughton has admitted that coaching the four-time African champions comes with a lot of pressure.

The former Nottingham Forest manager took the Black Stars coaching job after Otto Addo resigned from the position following the team’s abysmal performance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Before taking over the coaching job, Hughton was serving as the Black Stars technical director, and Ghanaians were hopeful he will succeed following his experience in coaching.

Unfortunatey, he was shown the exit doors after Black Stars suffered a shocking group stage exit of the 2021 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

In an interview with Voice Online, Hughton said he knew there was always pressure coaching the Black Stars.

“I knew the pressure of taking the job when I took it, and if you’re not getting the right results, then you will know about it,” he said.

Chris Hughton has been unattached since his sacking as the Black Stars head coach.
