GFA ExCo member joins call for Andre Ayew’s return to Black Stars

Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association, Frederick Acheampong has joined the call for Andre Ayew to be included in the next Black Stars call-up.

Ayew is currently in an incredible form for Le Havre in the French league, scoring five league goals and two assists this season.

And with coach Otto Addo and his backroom staff preparing to announce the Black Stars squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifying games against Chad and Madagascar this month, many believe Andre Ayew should be included.

Sharing his view on whether the 35-year old should be recalled to the Black Stars for the upcoming assignments, Frederick Acheampong stated that ”as long as he is playing competitive football, his teammates in his team in France, some of them play for their national teams.

“So if he is in the right frame of mind and playing top-level football in France, and the coach feels that he needs him, why not? He has always showed commitment whenever he is given the opportunity to play for the Black Stars.”

Ayew has been out of the Black Stars for the past ten months.
